Raw Avantic is our latest model and a further development from our previous models, Raw 1.5 and Raw 2.0. Raw Avantic is built in aluminum but in the same way as an industrial machine with linear bearings and a real Z-axis that can pass its own axis. The cutting depth is 165 mm (Compared to about 110 mm for our previous models). These machines are so-called Desktop machines, they need a table to stand on. The reason for this design is that it should be easy to transport the machine and take it through doors and stairs. You can build your own table from wood, steel or aluminium. The only requirement is that the table must hold the weight and be level.

Why should I build an Avantic CNC machine?
If you have never worked with a CNC machine, you will discover a whole new world of manufacturing. An Avantic machine can mass produce parts with extreme accuracy and speed. Once you have drawn and set up a piece to be cut, you can produce the same part endlessly. Compare that to standing for hours in front of the band saw and doing the same. A CNC machine is like a very good employee who works around the clock without complaining.

Raw is among the first aluminum machines on the market. There are many copies on our machine, which is fun, what is less fun is that they chose cheap plastic parts and shaky design. We have chosen to go in the other direction and today our machines are the strongest and most serious DIY machines on the market as far as we know. An Avantic can weigh up to 40-120 kilos and only the plates weigh 10 kilos and are made of up to 8mm aluminium. Compare it to other machines that have 3-4 mm aluminum or steel sheets. Raw uses industrial parts at the same price as other machines.
